The Hebrew of the Dead Sea Scrolls
The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls at the end of the 1940s and their publication over the following decades has led to a revolution in our understanding of the Hebrew of the Second Temple period. The lecture will concentrate on the contribution of this artifact to our understanding of Hebrew in the centuries preceding and following the beginning of the Common Era as well as the trends and methodologies that were implemented over the years to study its dialect of Hebrew.
