Welcome to the Polis Blog!

July 14, 2016

We are excited to begin our new blog, where we will be sharing articles, photos, videos, and other media in order to keep you updated on events and courses at Polis. As academics with a wide range of interests in the humanities, we will also be sharing things that catch our interest. You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.

We recently finished our spring semester! To celebrate our students, teachers, and staff's hard work over the past year, we had our annual End-Of-Year Party, which included skits and songs from our Koine Greek, Biblical Hebrew, Modern Hebrew, Spoken Arabic, and Modern Standard Arabic classes, along with a cake contest.

After the party, we started focusing on our summer programs. This year we will be offering intensive as well as regular (bi-weekly) courses in Spoken Arabic and Modern Hebrew. The intensive courses are always a lot of fun, attracting students from all over the world. We will gather together each week for breakfast, taking time to learn words for popular Middle-Eastern foods and getting to know each other.
